ELKINS – Davis & Elkins College students and alumni will have multiple opportunities to create a winning resume during Resume Week, January 27-31. Support sessions and materials will be presented by the Office of Academic Affairs, in conjunction with Career Services and The Naylor Learning Center.
“A great resume has the power to open doors,” said Director of Career Services Chris Jones.
Jones emphasizes that job seekers who don’t have a resume should create one. Those who do have a resume should consider whether it is up to date, and have someone review it for typos, errors or suggestions.
On Tuesday, January 28, Career Services will offer a resume workshop from 11 a.m. to noon in Liberal Arts Hall room 208. Throughout the week, The Naylor Learning Center will host pop-up resume tables giving participants a chance to have someone look over their resume and pick up support materials. The pop-up tables will be available from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday, Wednesday and Friday in Benedum Dining Room and from 12:30-2 p.m. at Eshleman Science Center. Students whose schedules don’t fit the timeframe may drop off their resumes and pick them up at a scheduled time.
Resumes may also be emailed to Jones at Jonesc3@dewv.edu with the subject line Resume Week.
