Program Overview

Davis & Elkins’ Center for Professional Development exists to equip and empower every  student to effectively take the next steps of professional development as they build thriving careers and healthy lives committed to impactful local and world citizenship.
The Center for Professional Development is located  on the 2nd floor of Albert Hall. Dr. Justin Bowers serves as the Director of Career Services and Experiential Learning and can be reached at 304-637-1220, or at bowersj@dewv.edu.

What do we do?

KNOW: Helping students understand their own individual interests, preferences, passions, strengths and values as they relate to professional development. 

EXPLORE: Supporting students in developing a knowledge base of potential professional and career next steps. 
PREPARE: Providing students with practical aid in developing the tools and skills necessary for achieving the next career step – including effective resumes and cover letters, successful internship experiences, positive interviews, and networking opportunities. 
LAUNCH: Assisting graduating students as they begin life after graduation in whatever professional steps they take.
